In addition to providing proposal and strategic development services, MJH Grants also trains groups and individual grant professionals to better develop, find, win, and manage grants for their non-profits.

Maura Harrington

Ms. Harrington, MIIM, GPC, is a seasoned grant professional with more than 20 years of non-profit development experience. She worked overseas for more than ten years in a variety of non-profit positions, including proposal development, project management, public speaking, and training, in the former Soviet Union, (Russia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia). She was a senior grant writer and manager in the health care industry close to 10 years, specializing in large foundation, federal, and state grant applications. She holds a master’s degree in International and Intercultural Management from the SIT Graduate Institute (formerly the School for International Training), and a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from Boston University.


In late 2015, Maura established her own company, MJH Grant Consulting, with a mission to help the non-profit sector become more sustainable through grant funding. In 2017, Maura obtained her Grant Professional Certification (GPC) from the Grant Professionals Certification Institute. She is also the current President of the New England Chapter of the Grant Professionals Association (www.grantprofessionals.org); a national organization dedicated to the advancement of grant professionals. 


Over the years, Maura has assisted dozens of organizations to win grants from multiple governmental and private foundations and corporations, including NIH, HRSA, AHRQ, PCORI, The American Cancer Society, The American Heart Association, The Amelia Peabody Charitable Fund, The Hearst Foundations, Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA Foundation, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation, The Cummings Foundation, and many more. 


Maura is happily married. She and her husband have four children and three grandchildren (all boys!). She likes traveling with her family and open water swimming.
